My favorite painters are from the Hudson River School, the first American art movement. I am inspired by the beautiful wild landscapes of these 19th century painters and it is my greatest desire to someday paint like these masters of the American wilderness.
I have been painting for about 3 years. I have always been interested in art and creative endeavors. My mother was an artist and I watched and admired her work as a child. I took a few art classes at MJC about 20 years ago, but never pursued it further until going to a “paint and sip” party three years ago. I realized I had some talent and wanted to develop it further. Being mostly self-taught I decided I needed further guidance from a professional artist, so I reached out to Rhett Regina Owings for some oil painting lessons. I also enjoy Acrylic painting and took a class from Carson Grubaugh at MJC. My favorite painters are from the Hudson River School, the first American art movement. I also enjoy painting portraits of pets and people. Note my paintings are signed with the name Voodle, which was from a childhood nickname my mother gave me – Victorvoodle. Thank you for taking the time to view my paintings and I hope you enjoy them.
