Mosaic with Karen Kingsbury

Saturday & Sunday, May 3rd & 4th

2 day workshop! Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Day 1, students will be able to start as beginners or continue with a more challenging project. In consultation with Karen, beginners will have a selection of shapes to choose from, in order to learn the basics of design, materials selction, cutting tile/glass or dishes, and finishing a project.

Intermediate students will be given the option of shapes. Having the basic mosaic skills learned, students will learn new techniques using glass, tile, dishes and mirror glass to make our art pieces.

Day 2, all students will finish their pieces by grouting and cleaning their pieces in order to take home and enjoy! Their pieces will be suitable for indoor or outdoor hanging. Come join the fun!

Painting “The Marsh” with Barbara Gill

Saturday, May 18, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Use the cat tongue brush to to sketch birds, ducks, cattails and flowers in colored ink.  Use watercolor washes for the background. Mount your painting on foam core and varnish it with cold wax so it can be shown without glass.

Figure Drawing Drop-In Each Wednesday, 7 – 9 p.m.

Join us for informal, non-instructional life drawing sessions with a nude model. This is a weekly drop-in group, $10 per night. Bring your own supplies and easel (tables are available). No registration necessary, over 18 only.
