Mosaic Art Workshop with Karen Kingsbury

Saturday, Oct. 19 10 am -4pm and Sunday, Oct. 20, 10 am -1pm

Let’s mosaic with Karen Kingsbury! Day 1: Students will be able to start as beginners or continue with a more challenging project. Beginners will have a selection of shapes to choose from, learn the basics of design, materials selection, cutting tile/glass or dishes, and finishing a project. We will use glass, tile, dishes and mirror glass to make our art pieces. Day 2: all students will finish their pieces by grouting and cleaning their pieces in order to take home and enjoy! Their pieces will be suitable for indoor or outdoor hanging. Registration $100 at Mistlin Gallery or online, plus materials $25 (paid to Karen) Tools provided, or intermediate students should bring their tools. After registration, please contact Karen to choose a specific and custom shape to work on.

Screen Print Holiday Cards

Saturday, December 7, 12 – 4 p.m.

Join Chris Garcia of Myth and Arrow Press to create a variety of holiday and winter themed cards while learning the basics of screen printing. $50 registration includes all materials. This intro might inspire you to take a 2-day workshop with Chris, scheduled in March 2020 where you’ll create your own designs and print on paper and textiles.

Winter Sculpture Camp

Monday – Friday, Jan. 6 – 10, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.

Gift your kids, ages 8-13, a fun week during winter break to come and create a variety of sculpture and 3D works of art using clay, wire, cardboard, found objects and more. Registration $95 at the gallery, or online at http://mistlingallery.eventbrite.com All supplies included.

Magnolia Blossom Watercolor Workshop

Saturday-Sunday, January 18-19, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm

Paint along, step by step with Shirley Green, from photos and written instructions of a magnolia blossom and leaves. Shirley will be focusing on color harmony, color infusion, glazing and some discussion on composition. Short demos will be followed by students painting their own work. All students will work on the same subject. Some watercolor experience is helpful. Adult only, beginner to intermediate. Fee $135, students will be provided a list of materials to bring to class.

Screen Printing 101 with Chris Garcia (Myth and Arrow Press)

Saturday/Sunday, March 14-15, 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Ages 12 and up. Come and learn the bold and versatile art form of screenprinting. You can be a complete beginner or someone looking to brush up on their skills. A two day class that will show you how to take your art, hand drawn or digital files (photos), and create hand pulled screen prints. You will learn how to make an edition of prints (two colors) as well as garment printing on T-shirt and tote bag. All supplies included in fee (You may bring additional things to print on)  Cost: $150 (not fully refundable if cancelled, registration due March1st).

Preschooler/Adult Art Exploration

Thursdays, March 26 – April 30, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

Join us for a fun, low stress exploration of art materials and creativity aimed at pre-school aged children with a parent, grandparent or other caregiver. Ages 2-5 and an adult. $85 for six sessions, materials included.

Figure Drawing Drop-In Each Wednesday, 7 – 9 p.m.

Join us for informal, non-instructional life drawing sessions with a nude model. This is a weekly drop-in group, $10 per night. Bring your own supplies and easel (tables are available). No registration necessary, over 18 only.
