Pet Portraiture in Pastels, Olive – Step by Step

Creating a cherished portrait of an animal friend, (or person), can be one of the most emotional and rewarding things an artist can do. For many artists, creating an accurate representation may seem a daunting task. In this workshop for beginners through intermediate, we will use techniques that will help whatever the level of expertise. Participants will take home methods they can apply to future projects.

Instructor, Christine Obers has achieved Distinguished Pastelist status from the Pastel Society of the West Coast. She has also received Master Pastelist status from the Pastel Artists of Canada.

Saturday and Sunday, March 9th and 10th with an optional day on Monday, March 11th. The fee for the 2 day workshop is $170. The optional third day adds $85. (This third day would only be available to those who have completed the previous two days.) Class size is limited to 8 participants. Winter Cartoon Camp

Bring your best story ideas, then bring them to life while you learn about character design, comics, marker technique, story-telling, anatomy, digital drawing and more! Two hours each day for 5 days. All materials included.

Introduction to Figure Drawing

Wednesdays, Jan. 23 – Feb. 13    4 sessions, 3:30-5:30 , $75

Ages 12 and up

In this class students will learn to draw the figure using a live model (clothed). We will cover gestural drawing, blind contour, shadow, shape and value as well as basic anatomy. Perfect for high school students who wish prepare a portfolio for college applications. Includes all materials. Instructor: Chelsea America.

Figure Drawing Drop-In Each Wednesday, 7 – 9 p.m.

Join us for informal, non-instructional life drawing sessions with a nude model. This is a weekly drop-in group, $10 per night. Bring your own supplies and easel (tables are available). No registration necessary, over 18 only.
